Shrimp is a seafood and it is made of many kinds of food that is delicious and appetizing. It's also eaten raw, as we all know, and the "Koh Kong shrimp" menu, which features raw shrimp and spicy fish sauce with mixed vegetables .



1. Is eating raw shrimp safe?
But many people, including many Cambodians, eat raw shrimp, but shrimp may contain bacteria, viruses and parasites that cause us Poisoning or disease. The harmful bacteria and viruses present in the shrimp can die unless cooked at high temperatures.

2. The dangers of eating raw shrimp
Most raw shrimp contain a type of bacterium called Vibrio, which causes us illnesses such as gastroenteritis and cholera. According to a study of 299 shrimp samples, 55% contained Vibrio bacteria. In addition, shrimp, which contained some Vibrio bacteria, was resistant to antibiotic treatment.

Also, eating contaminated shrimp also causes us to have food poisoning with symptoms such as vomiting, stomach upset, fever and diarrhea. Younger women and older people should avoid eating raw shrimp because of a weakened immune system and risk of infection.
